Forests are threatened all over the world due to cattle and livestock production, large- and small-scale agriculture and colonization, monoculture plantations, unsustainable logging, pulp plantations, fires, charcoal and fuelwood, mining, infrastructure, hydroelectric power.
SAVE OUR FORESTS
There are forests in the world which are threatened and at the same time there are movements supporting them. The shapes are forests and the icons are movements.
In a new report by WWF, Deforestation Fronts, they showcase the threatened forests in the world. The loss of two-thirds of forests globally is lost in the tropics and sub-tropics. It result in the destruction of entire ecosystems. You can explore the current deforestation fronts on their own map with fronts and statistics.
